Prahna (from Sanskrit prāṇa, “vital breath”) is one of the two capitals of Iridia, the region of nature, together with Gea. It belongs to the Southern League.
Prahna represents the vital breath that permeates all things, the invisible principle that makes life itself possible. If Gea guards the solidity of the earth and the care of that which grows, Prahna guards its essence: that which animates matter without coinciding with it.
Symbolism
- Note: C
- Nation: Iridia
- Twin city: Gea, at a distance of a perfect fifth
- Element: matter, understood as essence
- Meridian: matter, toward Nexus
On the meridian of matter, Prahna’s vital breath opposes and completes the rigor of Nexus, where science attempts to harness the infinite into intelligible structures: without a structure the universe is chaos, but without the vital breath it is merely an inert shell.
The note C is also the tonic of the pentatonic scale that represents the Southern League.
