The Southern League is the coalition that unites the southern territories of Solaria: Iridia, the region of nature, and Theknus, the region of technique. It also includes Nuru, the southern capital of Altaluna, which the war separated from its twin city.
The League represents the world of technique, of concrete action, of production and of the operative bond with nature. It is the place where knowledge becomes doing, where intelligence measures itself against matter, energy, time and space. In the symbolic language of the island it is the part of the object, just as the Northern Alliance is the part of the concept.

The five capitals of the Southern League correspond to the notes of the pentatonic major scale of C: C – D – E – G – A, that is, the white keys of the piano excluding F and B.
The League’s pentatonic scale is complementary to that of the Northern Alliance, placed at a distance of a tritone: together the two scales occupy ten of the twelve notes of the chromatic total, leaving out only F and B, the notes of the two neutral islands.
Each of the two pentatonic scales is internally consonant, ordered and self-sufficient. Precisely for this reason, when it closes in on its own sound field, its consonance turns into isolation: it is the musical form of the fracture that runs through the island.
