It is a zone of absolute silence, in which even the natural elements, such as wind and sea, produce no sound.

The capital Alma is the island’s only landing point, and it can only be reached by crossing the Horizon.

Meaning
The Horizon of the Manifold separates consciousness from the rest of the island and makes evident the leap that divides Alma from Eos: between the two islands there is no linear continuity, but a passage that must be accomplished by crossing the other nations.
The work of art, in Solaria, is the attempt to cross this horizon: a gesture that translates the unity of consciousness into the multiplicity of artistic experience, accepting the loss that this entails.
