Sankofa is one of the two capitals of Theknus, the region of technique, together with Yantra. It belongs to the Southern League.
The name is an exonym of Akan origin and means “go back and get it.” Sankofa is indeed the technical memory of the island: the archive, the tradition that builds upon the experience of the past. If at Yantra technique becomes machine and production, at Sankofa it becomes a repository of knowledge, transmission, and recognition of what has already been learned.
